Young Audiences and Families
Growing together with the festival — Junge Triennale makes this possible
From little ones under the age of six to primary school children, to teenagers – the Junge Triennale programme offers bespoke events for all age groups. Parents and families can look forward to events specially tailored for them, making a visit to the Ruhrtriennale an unforgettable family outing.
Incidentally, discounted family tickets are available for many productions in the young program. These are valid for two to five people - including at least one adult and one child - and can be easily booked in the webshop.
We have put together suitable offers and contact options for teachers seeking advice on selecting plays for their school classes.
All visitors of the festival, from young to old, can embark on their own cultural journey, enabling them to have exciting experiences and creating vivid memories.
Productions for our youngest audience at the festival
Kindergartens and parents with children aged 0 to 3 years immerse themselves together in UNIVERS or its neurodivergent version, BEYOND UNIVERSE, as space transforms into a poetic playground. In the interactive concert Djumbala!, Kindergartens and parents with children aged 2 and older embark on a musical journey to the Caribbean.
Parents and grandparents can enjoy the afternoon performances on Sundays as part of Happy Sundays, whilst their primary school-aged children explore themes from these productions in age-appropriate workshops at the same time.
At the Wunderland festival centre, the Kids and Family Workshops offer activities for all ages every Saturday at 4 pm.
Productions for teens
In Waste Me, young people from 13 years experience the consumer world they know so well as a dystopian place where people and relationships have become replaceable.
Teenagers aged between 12 and 18 will be following the festival’s events as part of the Triennale Teens Talk III programme and reporting on selected productions.
