About the inner harbor Duisburg

Please note: Due to road resurfacing, the A40 will be completely closed in one direction from 18 to 26 August. The section between the Wattenscheid-West and Essen-Zentrum junctions in the direction of Duisburg will be affected. Diversions are signposted. Visitors to the Ruhrtriennale 2025 should expect longer journey times and allow extra time for their journey.

 

Once Europe’s largest grain terminal, the inner harbor was redesigned in the 1990s according to plans by Sir Norman Foster. Today, industrial history meets modern architecture, culture and urban life. In 2025, this highly symbolic location will serve as a venue for the Ruhrtriennale for the first time.
