Welcome to the press area of the Ruhrtriennale!

Thank you very much for joining us at the Ruhrtriennale 2026. With more than 109.000 visitors, we can look back on a highly successful festival season.

This year’s programme featured a total of 30 productions and projects across 120 events in Bochum, Duisburg, Dortmund, Essen and Gladbeck. These included 14 in-house productions, co-productions and commissioned works. Around 600 artists from 45 countries took part in the Ruhrtriennale 2026.

In 2027, Lydia Steier will take up her post as the new Artistic Director, leading the festival for its next three editions. We will also celebrate the Ruhrtriennale’s 25th anniversary. The next edition of the festival will take place in August and September 2027. We look forward to welcoming you back to the Ruhrtriennale then.
