A40: Complete closure between Bochum and Essen

Due to road resurfacing, the A40 will be completely closed in one direction from 18 to 26 August. The section between the Wattenscheid-West and Essen-Zentrum junctions in the direction of Duisburg will be affected.

The closure is scheduled to begin on 18 August at 3 pm and is expected to be lifted on Tuesday, 26 August at 5 am. Diversions are signposted. Visitors to the Ruhrtriennale 2025 should expect longer journey times and allow extra time for their journey.
