Barrier-free Access
On this page you can find out what actions we are implementing to make the Ruhrtriennale 2025 programme accessible to as many people as possible.
Accessibility
Most of our venues can be accessed by the disabled. Detailed information about the arrangements for each of the individual venues can be found at ruhr3.com/spielorte
If you have any questions on the subject of barrier sensitivity and/or the local conditions, please contact us via email at service@ruhrtriennale.de or telephone +49 (0) 234 97 48 33 00 (Mon – Fri: 2 pm – 5 pm).
Wheelchair spaces
Wheelchair places should be booked through our ticket hotline +49 (0)221 280210. A ticket for one person to accompany you is free of charge.
Access aids
Access aids make it easier for people with reduced mobility to access the grandstands. These can be used at all events in the Jahrhunderthalle Bochum and the Kraftzentrale.
Hearing support
People with impaired hearing may borrow mobile inductive hearing loops free of charge for deposit at events at the Jahrhunderthalle Bochum and in the Kraftzentrale. In conjunction with a suitable hearing aid, these allow the stage sound to be amplified.
Relaxed Performances
Audiodescription and haptic tour
Audio description will be available for the performance of Guernica Guernica on 20 September. A team of sighted and non-sighted writers will provide a description of the action on stage, the set and costumes, tailored to the performance. The necessary receivers can be borrowed free of charge on payment of a deposit. In addition, a haptic tour will be offered before the performance to allow visitors to explore the stage space in advance.
German Sign language translation
All events in the Brave New Voices series and the performance of I Did It My Way on 23 August will be translated live into German Sign Language. Seats with a good view of the interpreters can be reserved directly from the production pages in the web shop.
Assistance dogs
Assistance dogs are welcome at the venues. Please book your ticket via the ticket hotline +49 (0)221 280210, where you will be allocated a seat where your dog can sit comfortably.
Surtitles
In principle, all performances with text will be provided with surtitles in German and English.
