How young people shape memory and tomorrow

What story does your camera roll tell? This question inspired Archiving Future, a multi-phase outreach project that will become a living archive of the present and the future. In four weekend workshops at the Folkwang Schüler:innenlabor der Künste, young people and teenagers can develop their own visual ideas and soundscapes and explore forms of creative expression using photography, sound and other artistic processes. The young people will question how images and sounds preserve memories and artistic processes influence narratives. In their practical work they will combine craft skills with social questions about futures and identities. Archiving Future will culminate in an exhibition devised by the young people that enables visitors to experience fragments of memories and future visions.

Produced by Ruhrtriennale in collaboration with Folkwang Pupils' Art Lab, an initiative of Folkwang University of the Arts.
