Dear Artists and Participants,

It is important to us that you feel comfortable, safe and supported during Ruhrtriennale. This also means that you know what you can do if this is not the case. For these moments, we would like to provide you with the following contact and support options:

Production managers

Your production manager is always available to you as a contact person. You can turn to them in confidence for support and advice. The production management is obliged to clarify a reported incident in dialogue with the management and to initiate the necessary steps.

Harassment-free Environment

Ruhrtriennale is committed to providing a harassment-free festival experience. Individual boundaries must be respected at all times in all festival spaces. In the event of physically or verbally abusive or discriminatory behaviour, both in person or on social media, we reserve the right to impose sanctions up to and including exclusion from our events or criminal charges (e.g. for violation of the AGG - General Act on Equal Treatment). We are committed to investigating every case of discrimination reported to us and taking consistent action.

If you have a concern, experience or witness harassment, please contact the Ruhrtriennale team on site or via email at awareness@ruhrtriennale.de

We will respond as promptly as possible and handle your request with care.

Works council

The works council is also available to you as a point of contact. It stands up for your rights and can advise and support you. The works council also has a conditional duty of confidentiality and will only inform the management as the employer about an incident if you agree to this.

You have the option of contacting the Themis Advice Centre. Themis offers you a safe space to find support in cases of abuse of power and sexual harassment. You will receive legal and psychological counselling as well as mediation in the event of conflict. Themis offers you anonymous and confidential help. You can find more information and support on the Themis website (Themis Advice Centre for Sexual Harassment and Violence). www.themis-vertrauensstelle.de
