Wunderland

A festival is also a party!

For the last time our festival centre Wunderland will open its doors and invite you to linger, be amazed and come together, spend some unforgettable evenings and join in conversations. Underneath the water tower, between the Pumpenhaus and the Jahrhunderthalle, a place is open where children, young people and adults are welcome to drink, eat and hang out in a variety of formats.

Here’s what you can look forward to at Wunderland this year

Kids & Family Workshops

Ranging from acrobatics to craft projects, the activities at Wunderland create an experimental space for creative youngsters. Kids can have fun and try their hand at crafts under professional guidance, free of charge.

The programme will be released on 29 July.

Ruhr Diamonds

On Saturday nights aspiring local musicians take over the stage of the festival centre. On five weekends we will experience the Ruhr region’s full diversity of genres. Between groovy pop punk, rap and trap, there are new sounds to discover at Wunderland – free of charge.

The programme will be released on 29 July.

Spoken Acts

What is moving young people in the Ruhr region? Spoken Acts is our stage for young authors from the Ruhr region. In this format, which combines reading, performance and discourse, they engage in conversation about the matter and form of their work.

The programme will be released on 29 July.

Down The Rabbit Hole X Cute Community Radio

The Cute Community Radio is a radio station, a community space and a hybrid platform for diasporic and migrant pop culture from Bochum. In our jointly presented party nights Down The Rabbit Hole we invite you to cute club nights where we can dance and celebrate multiple perspectives.

The programme will be released on 29 July.

Sunday Dancers

Whoever hasn’t danced enough the night before can extend their skills on Sunday mornings with the guidance of dancers and choreographers from our Ruhrtriennale programme. The sessions are aimed at anyone with or without professional dance experience.
