Sensual scouting of the body, moving in existential emptiness
In a trance-like state, a body moves through a dark room, hypnotically negotiating the contrast between space and sound. Acclaimed choreographer Christos Papadopoulos has won international attention for his highly precise works. With Landless, Papadopoulos and Georgios Kotsifakis have created a minimalist, pulsating evening that explores the relationship between the physical body and space. In OPUS, Papadopoulos dissects the form of Johann Sebastian Bach’s instrumental music and contrasts it with the corporeal rhythm of his choreography.
Landless is produced by LAC Lugano Arte e Cultura in co-production with Torinodanza Festival / Teatro Stabile Torino – Teatro Nazionale. OPUS Original production: Dansnät Jöngköping, 2017 New Production: Opera Ballet Vlaanderen, 2026 Hosted by PACT Zollverein with the support of Ruhrtriennale.
