Christoph Marthaler's Universe, Incomplete now available as DVD

The recording of Christoph Marthaler's creation Universe, Incomplete, which the director and artist associé of the Ruhrtriennale realised for the Festival of the Arts in 2018, is available in stores since Friday, 17 January 2020.

Together with the conductor Titus Engel and the stage designer Anna Viebrock as well as a 16-person ensemble of actors, dancers, singers and musicians, Christoph Marthaler created a universe of his own about life in the present and the future that thrilled both the audience and the critics. Charles Ive's unfinished Universe Symphony was supplemented with further works by the American composer and interpreted by the Bochum Symphony Orchestra, the Rhetoric Project, the Schlagquartett Köln and percussion students from various universities, so that over 100 musicians merged into one body of sound in the Jahrhunderthalle Bochum.

The two-hour recording, which was already shown on Arte in autumn, has now been released by ACCENTUS Music GmbH as a double DVD together with the documentary The Unanswered Ives - Pioneer in American Music about the composer Charles Ives:
