Kat Frankie, who comes from Sydney, has lived in Berlin since 2004, where she has released three albums so far. Initially they were characterised by the melancholic tones of introverted songwriter pop. But for Kat Frankie, the darkly hued world of singer-songwriter music does not exclude the bright, garish world of mainstream pop. “Everything I do,” she says, “helps me develop, I never want to stop learning.” She shows this in her current, artistic and highly intimate album Bad Behaviour. Her sensitive introspections also always include an outward view on political issues that only reveal themselves on a private level. She has also worked in a variety of side projects with Olli Schulz, Get Well Soon, Schulz und Böhmermann and the duo Keøma.
