The disorder and criminal acts generated by poverty usually happen far away from the everyday lives of theatre audiences. In aCORdo Brazilian choreographer Alice Ripoll breaks down physical and social distances. Using apparently innocent movements and subtle interactions, the four performers – who come from favelas themselves – invert the hierarchies between the performers and the audience. The spectators become active protagonists in a game that dissolves conventional roles: Who is who? And who is stealing from whom?
