Development Workshop With Heiner Goebbels

Artangel London  / Ruhrtriennale
are seeking performers/dancers for a 6-day workshop in March as initial research &
development phase of a new work by composer & director Heiner Goebbels.

Everything that happened and would happen spans one hundred and twenty years of
European history, full of contradictions, promises, crisis and grand illusions. The work
dismantles the twentieth century and reassembles its individual parts in a landscape of voices,
bodies, objects and music creating a new and poetic place where anything and everything is

The principal focus of the workshop will be movement and image-research on the
relationship between bodies and stage-elements or props.

Where: PACT Zollverein, Essen, Germany. (

When: March 22nd - 27th 2018
Daily from 11am - 2pm, and 5pm - 8pm

The workshop should be considered as an audition, leading towards further collaboration on
the making and touring of the show..

Requirements: We are looking for the following:

• Performers/dancers with professional approach
• Strong movement devising experience
• A playful, inquisitive, reflective and creative approach to your practice as a
theatre/dance maker
• Experience of working with text welcomed
• Musicality and instrumental expertise are apprecciated

Costs: We offer a fee for the workshop of € 900.-
Travel costs will be covered for all successful applicants, as well as accommodation and
subsistance for those who are not from Essen or surrounding areas.
