Every year the venues of the Ruhrtriennale become unique protagonists of the festival. In the menu item Venues you will find all the locations as well as an overview with further information on the respective venues and notes on accessibility on site. If you have any questions about barrier-free access or the use of a barrier-free parking space, please contact our event management team via vorderhaus@ruhrtriennale.de
- Public long-distance and local transport
Information on connections, tickets and prices for public long-distance and local transport can be found on the Deutsche Bahn website.

Tickets for the Ruhrtriennale 2024 are valid on the day of the event in the entire Rhein-Ruhr transport network (VRR) on all buses and local trains (2nd class) for the outward and return journey to and from the venue. The tickets are valid on the day of the visit until 3am the following day. You can not transfer your ticket.
The WelcomeCard Ruhr combines mobility with other discounted and free attractions in the area. You can find more information on the WelcomeCard Ruhr website.
- On demand shuttle services
- Duisburg: myBUS
myBUS is your on-demand bus for routes of up to 20 kilometres throughout Duisburg.
Operating hours
- Sundays to Thursdays, 6 p.m. to 2.30 a.m.
- Friday to Saturday, 6 p.m. to 3.30 a.m.
- Saturday to Sunday & before public holidays, 6 p.m. to 7.30 a.m.
Requirements
Bookings can be made via the myBUS DVG app, which can be downloaded free of charge from the App Store and Google Play Store.

How to book your trip
- Register for the myBUS app
- Enter in your profile under passenger details whether you are travelling at a reduced fare or require a wheelchair-accessible vehicle.
- Enter the starting point and destination (by entering the address, selecting it on the map or using the automatic location search).
- Specify when you would like to travel and how many people you are booking for.
- Confirm the trip, pay via app (also possible via PayPal), follow the arrival live and be taken comfortably to your destination.
Good to know
A trip can be booked up to 24 hours in advance.

- Essen: Bussi
Bussi is your on-demand Ruhrbahn shuttle in the extended area around Essen city centre.
Operating hours
- Every Thursday from 7 p.m. to midnight
- Every Friday and Saturday evening from 7 p.m. to 3 a.m.

How to book your trip
- Register for the Bussi app. If you already have a Zäpp account, you can also easily register using it.
- First select the number of people. Up to six people can travel on each journey.
- You can then add the start and destination points. The Bussi app calculates a route for you and offers you a journey.
- Confirm the journey, pay via the app (also possible via PayPal), follow the arrival live and be taken to your destination in comfort. Bussi can pick you up at around 4,800 pick-up and drop-off points (virtual stops) that are no more than 250 metres apart. Your pick-up location is displayed on the map as part of the journey suggestion before you book.
Good to know
Do you need a wheelchair-accessible vehicle? Go to the app settings and activate the option "Wheelchair-accessible vehicle" .
If you use Bussi with more than one person, everyone can save money: The person making the booking pays 100% of the fare, the second person pays 50%, the third and fourth person only pay 25% and the fifth and sixth person travel for free.
